The FFBC is an educational, non-profit
corporation for gay and bisexual men. It is dedicated to awarding
$2,500 scholarships to high school seniors who have significantly
participated in efforts to increase awareness and tolerance of gay
and lesbian issues and reduce homophobia in his or her school or
community.
An applicant must be a resident of Iowa and plan to pursue
post-secondary education. Scholarships are awarded without regard to
gender, race, religion, creed, marital or employment status or
sexual orientation of the prospective recipient or his/her
relatives. Additionally, there is no restriction on the type or
location of the educational institution where post-secondary
education is obtained.
Applications and transcripts must be received no later than March
31, 2011. The FFBC Scholarship Selection Committee will award
scholarships on May 1, 2011.
